Tolerate Trump? Tolerate hate.

If Trump were a German or French or English politician, Americans would be soiling themselves with fears of Neo-Nazi parties. Incredible editorials would spread alarming images of anti-immigrant thuggery. The openly announced racism would bring down walls of criticism about evil, backward Europe.

Instead, we merely shake our heads, either laugh at his narcissism or decry his hypocrisy. He's an obnoxious, spoiled child to us. We tolerate this because he is "one of us." Not be taken seriously. No real American can be so hateful and so popular.

Wrong. Guess again. American history is filled with hateful people who clamber to the top, representing those who would deny success to others. We may not have a Nazi-type ideology at work here in the U.S., but we have deeply rooted racism. We still harbor fears about those with the "wrong" religion.

Tolerate Trump? Tolerate hate. It *is* that simple.
